How to Print Coloring Pages Perfectly (Every Time)
Our pages are built as crisp vector PDFs in both US Letter and A4 — pick your size on any page's download button and they print edge-clean at full quality. Three settings fix almost every printing problem:
1. Print at 100%.
In the print dialog choose “Actual size” or set scale to 100% — not “Fit to page”, which can shrink the art and fatten margins. Our pages already include safe margins for every common printer.
2. Pick the right paper.
Everyday copy paper (20 lb / 80 gsm) works fine for crayons and pencils. Using markers? Step up to 24–32 lb (90–120 gsm) so color won't bleed through. Making keepsakes? Cardstock holds up to heavy coloring and fridge display.
3. Use black ink only.
The pages are pure black line art, so selecting black-and-white/mono printing uses zero color ink and looks identical.
Quick fixes: Lines look grey or fuzzy? Open the downloaded file in Adobe Reader or your browser and reprint. Page cut off? You may be printing Letter on A4 or vice versa; grab the other size. Stuck? Email hello@crayonsprout.com with your printer model and we'll help.
