Four bands of weave cross the basket, each one a long strip that can be coloured in a single sweep. A handle arches over the top. Alternating two colours between the bands makes the basket look properly woven and takes no more effort than using one. Baskets carry food to a place with no table, which is most of the appeal of a picnic.
